1. What kind of doctor is he? What does he do?
Dr. Preudhomme is an anesthesiologist with advanced training in Pain Management. He is board-certified in Pain Management. He is known for his caring style and ability to answer all of your questions.
2. Does he write prescriptions?
He is an interventional pain management specialist. Mostly what we do here is provide injection therapy. If you don’t respond to injection therapy, he will evaluate you further and may prescribe medication.
3. What type of injections does he give?
He gives a variety of injections depending on what your symptoms may be. He will need to evaluate your current condition to determine what injection would be appropriate for you.
4. What type of therapy does he do?
He does IDD therapy, which uses a compressive device. It offers nerve decompression over a period of six weeks through a series of one-hour appointments.
5. Is he a licensed MD?
Yes, he is an MD licensed in Florida. He is fellowship-trained in Pain Management and has been practicing for over 15 years.
6. Do you take insurance? What type of insurance do you accept?
We accept most insurance. Please call for a list of the ones we accept.
7. What will be my out-of-pocket costs?
Your insurance company will be able to provide that information to you. They can also tell you what your co-pay will be.
8. How long is the first visit?
The first visit will be from 45 minutes to one hour. You may want to come in about 15 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork.
9. What will be discussed?
Dr. Preudhomme will take a medical history and review your MRI or X-rays and then discuss treatment options with you.
10. What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, loose clothing.
11. My insurance is Medicare. Do I need to pay anything out-of-pocket?
If your are covered by Medicare, your co-pay will be 20%. If you have secondary coverage, this will be determined by your plan.
12. Do you check with my insurance company for coverage?
Yes, we will do a preauthorization. You will contact your primary doctor for authorization.
13. What do you treat?
In general, we treat primary patients with chronic pain. This may be neck pain, back pain or sciatica. We do not treat patients with acute pain. |
